28 Mar Tell House of Representatives to Support HR 676
Last week the people spoke up and the House of Representatives had no choice but to listen. The American Healthcare Act aka Trump/Ryan Care was withdrawn before a vote could be taken.
In January, Rep. John Conyers reintroduced HR 676 “Expanded & Improved Medicare for All Act.” To date over 70 representatives have signed on as co-sponsors. First introduced in 2003, HR 676 seeks to provide all Americans access to health care. Senator Sanders is expected to introduce similar legislation in the Senate.
Saving Obamacare is Not Enough We Need Medicare for All. Previously called “pie in the sky” or a “non-starter” Medicare for All has the support of a majority of Americans. We have seen numerous examples in recent weeks and months of what happens when people stand up and demand better from their representatives.
So what can we do?
- Use Phone Your Rep and call your House Representative and tell them to support HR 676 to provide medicare for All Americans
- Write a letter to your local newspaper expressing your support for medicare for all. Check out these tips for writing letters to the editor!
- Share this info with at least five friends, family members, or others in your community. Help spread the word so we can maximize our reach!
Congress works for us and clearly we need to keep reminding them. We cannot simply allow the powers that be to keep saying “no now is not the time.”
